User Guide > Projects > Building the Current Project

To build the current project:

Select Build from the Project menu. You can also press the Build button () on the toolbar or use the F7 hotkey. «Building project - Step1» dialog will appear.

In this dialog you will have two selection.

AutoPlay Menu (distributed on CD, DVD, Flash Drive etc.)

Put autoplay menu application to the root of a 'Disc Image' folder. This option gives you the most flexibility. Choose it if you’d like package autorun menu with your large resources (movies, presentations, documents, installation program, etc).

Standalone Application (distributed by E-Mail, Web Site etc.)

Create a single self-running executable file. This option is perfect for small projects distributed through email or as web downloads. The only downside is that your project must decompress when run, which will increase the startup time on large projects.

Press Next button, so you can watch as Autoplay Menu Designer builds your project. Autoplay Menu Designer will build the project into the project's Disc Image or create one self-executed application. As soon as the project is built, the «Building project - Step2» dialog will be opened for you automatically.

a) You'll see this dialog, if during autorun menu creation some critical errors occur or the process was interrupted by the user. In this case the Publish button will be disabled. Correct the errors and repeat the process of creation. You can see errors descriptions in the Details log.

Each icon is attached to certain type of the message:

() - information - the operation is executed successfully.

() - error - operation error. This error is not critical, and most likely will require certain action to correct it. (For example, if a nonexistent musical file for the page music properties is chosen, you will not hear any music during the page viewing, but everything else will work fine).

() - critical error - the error which show impossibility of the autorun-cd creation. Probably, the Output folder is protected from changes or there is no free space on the disc. It is also possible, that the AutorunPlayer.exe file from the Autoplay Menu Designer distribution kit is damaged.

() - the process of creation was interrupted by the user.

b) You'll see this dialog, if during autorun-cd creation some minor errors occur. To see the errors description press the Details button. You still can burn the CD/DVD, but some functions may work incorrectly. It is better to correct these errors.

c) You'll see this dialog, if autoplay menu is created successfully without errors. After that you can publish the autoplay menu application by using Publish button.
